Creativity Shell Camps Fund Free Sewing Program at Seabrook Library!
In their continuing effort to find creative ways to educate and inspire the next generation of makers, the Creativity Shell is offering a free 12-week sewing/textile arts class to grades 3-12 students at Evelyn Meadow Branch Library in Seabrook.
The Creativity Shell is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. Our organization teaches sewing/textile arts classes to students in public libraries, schools and shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. Sewing/textile arts classes are designed to educate and inspire children by teaching them essential life and practical skills.
Registration for free sewing/textile arts classes at Evelyn Meadow Branch opens August 1, 2017. Classes will begin on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 and will end Tuesday December 4, 2017. Parents are encouraged to register their children ONLY if they can commit to the 12-week class schedule. (Please contact the library for registration. http://www.hcpl.net/location/evelyn-meador-branch-library )
Funds raised from summer camps at the Creativity Shell studio in Kingwood are used to pay for the costs of offering this class FREE of charge to students. The organization plans to offer more sewing/textile arts programs at 7 other libraries in the Houston area but needs your support. If you would like to see more sewing/textile arts classes for kids in public libraries, please consider donating to one of their campaigns. https://www.creativityshell.org/donate/
