Stomp Out Human Trafficking in Houston!
On June 21, 2018 (the summer solstice) the Creativity Shell is encouraging all neighborhoods across Houston to be unified in displaying their “Sole” signs to Stomp out Human Trafficking! With many children out of school for the summer, this is a great time to get the conversation started with your children about human trafficking.
Nonprofit organization, the Creativity Shell needs your help to Stomp out Human Trafficking in Houston neighborhoods.
The Creativity Shell is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. The organization teaches sewing/textile arts classes to students in public libraries, schools and shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. For trafficking victims, the Creativity Shell uses sewing/textile arts classes as a form of therapy to help them regain their sense of ownership over something as small as making their own pillow.
Donations to the “Stomp out Human Trafficking” campaign can be made at the bottom of this page by using the donation form provided. By donating $20 or more to the “Stomp Out Human Trafficking Campaign.” Houston residents and businesses can receive a custom yard sign that sends a message to human traffickers that they are NOT welcomed! Signs can be picked up at the Creativity Shell studio at 1570 Kingwood Drive (After May 13, 2018). Please bring your donation receipt to pick up your sign.
Funds raised from the “Stomp Out Human Trafficking” Campaign will be used to convert/renovate rooms in Houston shelters that rescue children from Human Trafficking into art therapy rooms. Funds will also be used to purchase creative materials and supplies as well as pay for the costs of trained art therapy teachers certified to teach victims of trauma to teach classes in the shelters.
