Creativity Shell introduces Seam Building Workshops to Cultivate Creative Workplace Relationships.
Nonprofit organization the Creativity Shell is hosting special Seam Building workshops at local companies in Houston in an effort to cultivate creative workplace relationships.
The Creativity Shell is on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. The organization teaches sewing/textile arts and other trades classes to students in public libraries, schools, churches and shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. All classes are designed to educate and inspire children by teaching them essential life and practical skills.
Even though most classes offered by the Creativity Shell are tailored to children, the special Seam Building workshops are tailored for adults with no previous sewing experience required. In a typical Seam Building workshop, employees will have the opportunity to select a project they would like to complete and will work together to either make an individual item such as an apron or a group project such as a quilt. Seam Building workshops can also be used for philanthropic projects where employees can make items such as mastectomy pillows to donate to local hospitals.
The cost of hosting a Seam Building workshop is FREE, but companies and employees are encouraged to donate funds to help the organization pay for the costs of operating numerous sewing/textile arts and other trades classes in local shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking.
