Six years of empowerment, six years of excitement and six years of educating and inspiring the next generation of makers!
On Saturday, May 1, 2021, the Creativity Shell will be hosting our 6th annual Gala/Student Fashion Show (the theme this year is Space) at the Humble Civic Center from 6PM – 9PM.
The Creativity Shell is a nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. Th organization teaches sewing/textile arts and other trades classes to students in our private studios, libraries, schools and shelters that rescue children from homelessness, trauma and human trafficking. Classes and events hosted by the Creativity Shell such as the Munchkin Market are designed to educate and inspire children by teaching them essential life and practical skills.
If you have not been to Creativity Rocks, this show is absolutely the most inspirational event of the year! Students modelling in Creativity Rocks design and sew their own outfits based on the theme of the year. Hair and Make-up services are provided by cosmetology students at Lone Star College and every other aspect of being in Creativity Rocks for the student designers/models is to build self-confidence and self-esteem.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Creativity Shell kept our doors open so we could provide creative mental health therapy to our students. Each week, our organization was busy packaging art and cooking kits which were delivered to children’s homes so they could continue creating. What did we learn from this? Children need an outlet and creativity is the key. Funds raised from Creativity Rocks Space will be used to expand Creativity Shell programs to children across the Houston area as well as to children in foster care and the juvenile justice system.
In order to make Creativity Rocks Space a success however, the Creativity Shell needs your support and sponsorship. Sponsors will be highlighted with “thank you” rewards including (but not limited to) your company logo on the red-carpet banner & tickets, inclusion in the program booklet for Creativity Rocks, the Creativity Shell website, our social media pages, complimentary tickets to the show and the happy faces of the children who continue to thrive in our programs.
