Hurricane Harvey – Sponsor a Creativity Shell Student #creativetherapy

As many of you know, Hurricane Harvey ravaged through Houston leaving many of our students displaced.

Sewing and Quilting has many therapeutic benefits. After the hurricane, the Creativity Shell opened our doors free of charge to students affected by the hurricane. For the brief moment the students were in our studio, we saw happy smiles and eagerness from them to make items for their friends who were also displaced by the storm.

The Creativity Shell wants to continue our outreach to Houston area children. Due to the loss suffered by many of their families however, there are many students who cannot enroll in our programs for the 2017 – 2018 school year and receive the much-needed benefits of Creative Therapy.

In addition, some of public libraries and schools where the Creativity Shell offers free sewing/textile arts classes to students were extremely flooded during the hurricane. Classes will need to be moved to new locations thus incurring additional costs.

The Creativity Shell needs your help. Please consider sponsoring a Creativity Shell student for sewing/textile arts classes for the Fall 2017 semester. Sponsorship will help to provide sewing/textile arts, quilting and other art-therapy classes for Houston children in need. It will also help to provide them some much-needed creative therapy during this time.

The Creativity Shell is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and donations are tax-deductible.
