Creativity Cooks Delivers Cooking Classes to Humble ISD Elementary Schools!

In their continuing effort to find creative ways to educate and inspire the next generation of makers, the EZ Kids Creativity Shell plans to deliver meal kits to humble ISD elementary schools through their Creativity Cooks program!

If you have not heard of the Creativity Shell, they are a local organization that organization teaches classes such as sewing/textile arts, cooking, building and other creative trades to students in our studios, libraries, schools, ABA therapy centers, the juvenile justice system as well as shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking.  Their classes are designed to teach children essential life skills, practical skills and positive mental health coping skills.

At the onset of the COVID pandemic, the organization pivoted their in-person cooking classes to a virtual/hybrid program where they delivered cooking kids with supplies and recipes to children in the Kingwood/Humble area.  Meal kits contain all materials and recipes needed to make a meal and recipes are writing in an easy to use, child friendly format for children to follow along and cook!

Parents at schools such as Elm Grove Elementary and Garden Oaks Montessori School with children currently participating in the program have been extremely grateful to have their children participate.  “I came home one day, and my daughter had dinner rolls made!” Says Maria Garcia, parent of a grade 5 student… “The next week she made her own bread and jam, and it was so delicious!” added Garcia.

Parents that would like their children to participate in Creativity Cooks will need to register and pay for the program online.  The cost of each 4-week session at a discount rate for Humble ISD students is $55.  Meal kits will be delivered to the front office of the schools, 1x each week.   Enrolled students can pick up at the end of the day once delivered.

The current delivery schedule for the Kingwood/Humble area will be posted shortly upon confirmation with each school.
