Creativity Shell Joins Texas Commission of the Arts Touring Roster!

Kingwood nonprofit organization, the Creativity Shell has been admitted to the Touring Roster for the Texas Commission of the Arts (TCA)!

The Creativity Shell teaches sewing/textile arts classes to students in public libraries, schools and shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. Classes are designed to educate and inspire children by teaching them essential life and practical skills.

The Touring Roster for the TCA is designed to ensure that all Texans have the ability to enjoy performances by outstanding Texas-based companies and artists in their own communities. The TCA provides grants to help with the costs of bringing in companies and artists such as the Creativity Shell into your institutions.

The Creativity Shell hopes to use this opportunity to work with children from all over Texas and give them the opportunity to be educated and inspired by taking a Creativity Shell class in their neighborhood schools, libraries or shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. All sewing/textile arts and other crafts programs will begin the first week of September 2018 and will last for 12 consecutive weeks.  The Creativity Shell will supply all the materials, teachers and supplies necessary to teach each class.

If you or an organization would like to book a Creativity Shell class in your library, school or shelter, please contact Shelancia Daniel at sdaniel@creativityshell.org. You can also submit an ONLINE REQUEST Form by clicking here.  Once a contract is booked, your organization may apply for a portion of the negotiated fee (based on a sliding scale ranging from 30% to 50%) for an artist on the Arts Respond Performance Support application form from the TCA.
