4th Annual Munchkin Market on December 5th 2020!
Grab your family members and bring a few stacks of dollar bills; the Creativity Shell will be hosting their 3rd annual Munchkin Market on Saturday, December 5, 2020 where over 75+ K-12 Vendors will be selling their own handmade creations to the public.
This public Munchkin Market will consist of K-12 students from all over Houston converging to sell their own handmade goods. The students will have the unique chance to gain business, social, and entrepreneurial skills as they interact with customers. The Munchkin Market is also a wonderful opportunity for the local kids of Houston to shine as the next generation of makers.
The Creativity Shell is a nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. The organization teaches sewing/textile arts and other trades classes to students in our private studios, libraries, schools and shelters that rescue children from homelessness, trauma and human trafficking. Classes and events hosted by the Creativity Shell such as the Munchkin Market are designed to educate and inspire children by teaching them essential life and practical skills.
Some of the 75+ vendors participating in the Munchkin Market will be Tristan Noble Threads, Sew Beautiful Sisters, BK Designs, Oddities, Sister’s Workshop and more. The Munchkin Market will also feature a special booth by the Creativity Shell where you can create your custom quilt block for their amazing Sew a Little Love Quilt Project.
“The children have all been working so hard and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the market this year to sell.” Says Shelancia Daniel, Creative Director of the Creativity Shell. “We want the children to reap the benefits of their hard work and they will be the ones to decide what happens to the money they make. Some children are deciding to keep the money to purchase Christmas presents for their friends and family and others are raising funds for a cause such as a Scout Troop or local shelters” added Daniel.
The Munchkin Market will be held in the Parking Lot of the Creativity Shell studio located at 1580A Kingwood Drive (On the corner of Green Oak and Kingwood Drive) from 10AM – 2PM. There will be a MULTIPLE Tents in the parking lot, and you can also look out for the Creativity Shell Busses, Jerry and Sherry as well as their new adopted baby Berri-Jam!
When asked if there any suggestions for patrons attending the Munchkin Market? “Bring a LOT of cash!” says Daniel.
